Sticky Rice

Ingredients
(1 part rice to 1.2 parts water)
- 500ml sticky rice (glutenous rice)
- 600ml water
Directions
The cooking time is ~25 minutes:
- however long it takes to bil
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 10 more minutes just sitting/steaming with burner off
- Rinse the rice until water runs clear
- Add rice and 600ml water to pot* Berit: we used the back/right burner
- Bring to boil, keep an eye on it – it will stick right away
- When it boild, reduce to “2” (almost lowest) setting.
- If boiling too much, remove from heat for a few seconds.
- Give the rice a good stir with a wooden spoon to make sure nothing is stuck to the bottom.
- Put lid on, Cook 5 minutes without checking.
- After 5 minutes, give it a quick stir again.
- Reduce to 1/lowest setting, quickly put lid back on. cook for 10 minutes.
- Do not check/open lid. Trust the process
- Turn heat off, leave on stove 10 minutes (5 minimum). do not open. Trust the process.
- Ready
